Planting n' Painting

We spent majority of afternoon yesterday in the front garden. We planted pumpkin, green beans, zucchini and tomatoes. There were a few snap peas ready to be picked, and they were so good, almost like candy. Lyric was bummed there weren't more to pick...yet. There were a few strawberries ready to pick, many more on the way. There are cute little peach fruits, about the size of grapes...they will be a treat to eat. We picked plenty of tangerine's yesterday and I squeezed tangerine juice, we had with our home-made belgian waffles for breakfast.

Back to the garden..we dispursed color in various places. Lyric, Miles, Natassia and I had a grea day enjoying the gorgeous weather outside... here are some shots of various pieces that I painted.

Vegan Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

I tried this recipe last night for the first time. They turned out amazingly. Soooo tasty. Vegan recipe's tend to be a shot in the dark for me, especially when it comes to baked goods. I halve the recipe just in case they don't turn out great...but I will definitely make these again...very soon.
I noticed in the picture that the top muffin looks like a face. Does anyone else see that?.. wacky!
Here's to health, love and happiness. :)

Little Pillow

These little beds were passed down to me from my mom. Lyric loves to play with them and put his little dolls to "beepies" (sleepies). I decided it would be fun and easy to create little pillows and blankets, and I finished my first pillow. I used felt and wool roving.

Sibling Love

Precious Boy

This morning Lyric was helping Daddy build a fire. He loves to crumple the paper and throw them in, I'm certain he'll be able to build a fire on his own at a very young age. He is so observant, and takes in so much of the world around him.
One of the first things he wanted to put on this morning were the beenie and boots he received from Santa.
We are having a nice week, family is in town. Miles brother and his 3 girls are having a fun time, Natassia is in heaven spending so much time with her cousins and having late night slumber parties. This morning Miles made the most incredible waffles with a recipe I found. They were a hit, and will be made again soon!
Today we are going to a pool party, I know we are some of the very few across the country going to a pool party today--most people would need to bring ice-skates to a pool party this time of year.
Happy New Year.

Yarn Dolls

While packing and organizing I came across these yarn dolls I made a few months ago. The blue one was my very first, the little one was my second and the bright green and pink was one that I made during Lyric's class. Really fun and easy to make.
